The Men’s Baseball team earned their third win in a row in front of a capacity crowd on Saturday afternoon on the ball field here on campus. Longtime coach Eric Brown led his blue and white clad Clippers to a 7-1 victory against Brooklyn’s Kingsborough Community College.
The Clipper’s victory on Saturday brought their overall season record at that point to four wins and only two losses on the year. Kingsborough battled as hard as they could, but only managed to earn one run as opposed to SCCC’s seven earned runs scored. The game was action-packed from the first inning all the way until the final out was made. Many players on the home team added to the Clipper’s victory in their own way. Many players on the home team contributed to the game with hits and runs scored including Jared Mancini, Shawn Rooney, Joseph Ganz, Robert Sturchio, and Thomas Butler, among others. In addition to head coach Eric Brown, the Clippers are also led by assistant coaches Lou Klammer, Joseph Kosina and Ron Davies.
The Men’s Baseball team has 30 more home and away games remaining in the regular season before the playoff season begins. Their next home game is on Sunday March 22 at 3:30 p.m. when they take on Connecticut’s Manchester Community College. Admission to the game is free and everyone is encouraged to attend the game and cheer on their home team in the blue and white.
